Engaging Families in the Employment Process

Explores the vital role families play in the lives of people with developmental disabilities and how service providers can build strong partnerships with them. This training covers strategies for reducing tension, improving communication, and working collaboratively toward shared goals.

This course is eligible for one hour (1) of CPD credit in the areas of adult services, service and support administrator, and superintendent.

This course is about 60 minutes long.

Foundations of Employment Services

Reviews why having a job matters for people with developmental disabilities and how to support them in finding meaningful work. The training covers important laws, helpful services, and ways to create more job opportunities in the community.

This course is eligible for one hour (1) of CPD credit in the areas of adult services, service and support administrator, and superintendent.

This course is about 60 minutes long.

Getting to Work: Transportation and Coordination of Supports

Provides strategies to locate local transportation resources. Eligible for one (1) CPD unit in the areas of county board member, adult services, superintendent, and service and support administration. 50 minutes long.

Informed Choice and Community Employment

Reviews how to promote informed choice for transition-age youth and adults. Eligible for three (3) CPD units in the areas of adult services, county board member, service and support administration, and superintendent. 135 minutes long.

Integrated Employment Services

Reviews integrated employment services. Eligible for two (2) CPD units in the areas of adult services, county board member, service and support administration, and superintendent. Two hours long. 

Orientation to Supported Employment

An introduction to Supported Employment. Eligible for four (4) CPD units in the areas of adult services, county board member, investigative agent, service and support administration, and superintendent.
