Registration for this course is limited to Early Intervention service coordinators and EISC supervisors who have successfully completed or tested out of Principle of Services Coordination Module Two: The IFSP Process - Part One and have the enrollment code provided to them on their transcript upon course completion.

This training is designed to build the knowledge and skills of Early Intervention providers in carrying out their responsibilities related to parent rights.

Reviews the mission and key principles of Early Intervention services.

This training provides an overview of human development from birth to three years of age. Milestones during the newborn stage, young infancy, older infancy, young toddlerhood, and older toddlerhood are highlighted across all developmental domains. Guidance for when development does not match expectations is provided for each stage. 

The course satisfies the requirement for obtainment of the one-year developmental specialist certification and the one-year early intervention service coordinator/service coordination supervisor credential.

Reviews the Primary Service Provider (PSP) approach, including the role of the PSP and the secondary provider during joint visits.

Explores the Early Intervention journey from referral through the development of the initial IFSP.

This webinar will contain a closer look at Rule 5123-10-02 changes and the IFSP process, including a comprehensive walkthrough of the new EI-04 (IFSP). This series includes four self-study training presentations that focus on early communication. These four modules include an introduction to significant milestones in early communication, preverbal communication, strategies for supporting parents, and preparing families for a child's transition to preschool with considerations for when a child is non-verbal. Throughout the series, there will be specific considerations for children with conditions such as intra-uterine opioid exposure, lead exposure, hearing loss, cerebral palsy, and childhood apraxia.

This course is about 120 minutes long and has 2 CPD units available in the areas of EI Developmental Specialist, EI Service Coordinator, EI Service Coordinator Supervisor. and Superintendents.

This training consists of 5 modules that contain video recordings of the 5-part webinar series Balanced Intervention: Supporting Caregiver & Child Learning during (and between!) Early Intervention Visits that were held between September 2022 and February 2023. This webinar series was developed and facilitated by Dr. Dana Childress, who has worked in the field of early intervention for more than 27 years as an educator, early intervention service coordinator, supervisor, training facilitator, author, and consultant. The series provides insight and instruction in the realms of adult learning, information gathering, ISFP outcome development, and more, and how these components factor into a balanced intervention approach when working with children and families in early intervention. 

This course is eligible for seven and a half (7.5) CPDs in the areas of DODD Developmental Specialist, DODD Service Coordination, and Superintendent.

Approved by the State of Ohio CSWMFT Board for seven and a half (7.5) hours of continuing education when completed between May 16, 2023, and June 30, 2025.

This webinar is the first of three dedicated to OAC 5123-10-02: Early Intervention Program – Eligibility and Services and the changes that will be effective July 1, 2024.
